Maori

For our Open Weekend on the 5th of December we are all working on new designs and ranges of jewellery. Men's jewellery in particular this year...I have chosen the Maori Fish Hook symbols- when worn they are a sign of respect for the sea and good luck providing protection and safety for travellers. Apart from this I think they are beautiful shapes that lend themselves to personal interpretation.

Platinum & Diamond Solitaire Engagement Ring

The finished ring was set with a brilliant cut diamond and engraved.
She said yes!
This ring was a commission for a customer who had a strong idea of the design, we interpreted it in a wax ring so he was able to see it before it was made in platinum.

Diamond Commission

The finished ring! It was lovely to be able to make this ring as it means so much to someone.
We made a wax so the customer was able to try it on before it was cast in gold, the diamonds were all slightly different weights so we were able to reset them in the order they were orignally set when first made into a ring.

We were asked to remodel a diamond five stone ring that is extremely sentimental to our client, she wanted to be able to wear it everyday so for this reason it had to be durable and practical with out compromising on design. The diamonds are beautiful "old cuts".

Surf's Up....

We love this one.

Once the gallery was cut out , the diamonds set and the wave detail on the sides of the shank engraved.

Before the diamonds are set the gallery is cut out in the shape of a rolling wave.

The beginning.......a commission for a platinum and diamond engagement ring. The brief a little unusual as the couple love the sea, surf and waves. To be captured in the design of this ring....

Platinum and diamond ring commission

This platinum and diamond ring was commissioned as a wedding ring. One of our faves to do, hand carving the settings for the stones in this ring does bring job satifaction!

Pearl ring commission

This ring was a commission for a customer using their large cultured pearl. The lustre of the pearl was almost golden in colour , so was complimented with a yellow sapphire and diamond in yellow gold.

Look at the line, not around the line....

Nearly ready...the black line (inside edge of ring) marks the spot for burring a groove to set the stone. Citrine and Amethyst rings, getting ready to polish.

The "Original" Bubble Bangle

This is the original bubble bangle, we are debating whether to make a mold as it is or for technical reasons add the "stretched" detail afterwards.
